10 Soul Vitamins for the Coming of Autumn

The autumn wind is slowly getting ready to knock at the doors of our bodies and minds, bringing us back to the connection with ourselves after a long and energetic summer. It takes us deep, very deep into ourselves by its disarming sentimentality and it leaves our souls in a bittersweet battle with their own thoughts. Despite an unpleasant feeling of loneliness and sadness, I see this transformation as one of the most important ‘’events’’ in our year. It shows how closely our minds and bodies correlate with Mother Nature for it is not only the tree that needs to throw off its burden by shedding its leaves to be born again….but it’s us too. And the same way as we supply ourselves with various vitamins to prepare our bodies for the long winter time, we should not forget to take couple of soul vitamins before the autumn’s tiring but enriching entrée.

1) “Thank You” isn’t only a word…..it’s an ENERGY

Be thankful for what everything has been given to you this year. In the end….both good or bad things are equally beneficial to you.

“Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn’t learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn’t learn a little, at least we didn’t get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn’t die; so, let us all be thankful.”

– Buddha

2) To Forgive is an instrument of Gods…let’s be divine

Break the chains and find relief in one of the most noble acts of humanity; in forgiveness. Forgive those who have hurt you or challenged you on your life journey…let it go…let all the bad memories to be blown away by the wind….. for you never know when the time comes….when you will need to be forgiven.

 “Forgive others as quickly as you expect God to forgive you.”

– Unknown

3) Let your heart to be blown into heaven….and the entire heaven will be blown into your heart

Have you ever seen dandelion seeds being blown in the wind heading to the unknown limits of the sky ? Have you ever thought of where they fly or who they touch on their way up? That’s how I think of love…we should grow it in our hearts and let it be blown around by the wind to touch everything and everyone… Because to spread love unconditionally is angelic.

“And still, after all this time, the Sun has never said to the Earth,

“You owe me.”

Look what happens with love like that.

It lights up the sky.”

― Hafiz

4) Create … and you will be created

Creativity and art in combination with our imagination can do miracles with that person inside us. Let’s concentrate our minds and read, write, dance, sing, paint… or simply listen to the earth’s beating and let vibrations of  the universe to get under our skin.

“Art is a collaboration between God and the artist, and the less the artist does the better.”

– Andre Gide

5) I Wonder why we don’t Wonder about the importance of Wonder

No matter how much we try to educate the children, there’s still something we necessarily need to learn from them; to wonder. To look at the sun every morning as if it was the first time we see it; to eat strawberries from our garden as if we’ve never been amazed by their sugary taste before; to approach people as if all of them were walking miracles

   “From wonder into wonder existence opens.”

 ―Lao Tzu

6) Laugh so loud that your voice will rewrite the melody of the universe

Every morning, after we open our eyes and walk into that brand new day, we wait for the new possibilities, new changes…We ask ourselves, what story will today write for us; what will be waiting for us behind that corner we’re just about to pass by ; where will this day lead us….one step back or two steps further…? No matter how well or how badly the day challenges us, we should never forget that we all walk together in the same direction, looking for the same thing: to love and to be loved. And instead of  making complications, let’s rather search for connection….and what else could be the best bridge between two human souls… but a good and healthy laughter…:)

“ A day without laughter is a day wasted.”

― Charles Chaplin

7) The distance between you and God isn’t measured in miles, but in prayers

From time to time, when the reality isn’t capable of answering our questions anymore, we tend to dig deeper into our inner selves and seek for the understanding from a different source. I don’t know how about you, but I always look up to sky when I feel lost in myself…Maybe all the answers we look for in our lives are hidden somewhere in heaven, and our body is so clever that it tells us few seconds ahead of our mindTo watch the sky and pray is maybe all we came here for.

“Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace;

where there is hatred, let me sow love;

where there is injury, pardon;

where there is doubt, faith;

where there is despair, hope;

where there is darkness, light;

and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;

to be understood, as to understand;

to be loved, as to love;

for it is in giving that we receive,

it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,

and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

– St. Francis of Assisi – 13th century

8) First give, then enjoy….so nobody around you is in lack of anything…while you’re shining with happiness

When God created man, He said: “Let him have two eyes; one to see and one to watch. Let him have two ears; one to hear and one to listen. Let him have two feet; one to walk and one to head somewhere. Let him have two hands; one to take and one to help” Then he sat on the chair, frowned his face a bit and said: “Let him have one brain, so it will always remind him of what he should do with all these pair organs I gave him. And let him have one heart so he will always know why.”

“A bone to the dog is not charity.  Charity is the bone shared with the dog, when you are just as hungry as the dog. ”

~Jack London

9) Nobody in this world can call himself an orphan…we all are the children of Mother Nature

I am sure that most of you will agree with me when I say that the two places where you always feel connected with yourself and unconditionally loved are your mother’s arms and nature. The feelings of safety, warmth, protection, possibilities…that our two mothers awake within us with every single touch of their hands form our source of never-ending energy and love. It is our source of life…could we ever ask for more than that?

” You can’t be suspicious of a tree, or accuse a bird or a squirrel of subversion or challenge the ideology of a violet.”

~Hal Borland

Your mother died three years ago in the car accident, you are late for work because the bus is on diversion but you promised yourself to never sit into any car again. You get fired, but even the amount of unpaid bills on your table doesn’t unbalance you as much as the fact that you won’t be able to pay for your sister’s doctor’s appointment the other day… Your body and mind is so weak, you can’t even remember whether you take pink pills in the morning and white ones in the afternoon or vice versa…After 2 months of constant calling to your ex-girlfriend…she finally answers…but you run out of credit in a moment you take up the call… But…there is always this ”but”…every morning we open our eyes, there is this unexplainable reason why we stand up no matter how hardly our feet fit into our shoes we have to walk in for the rest of the day. The answer is: live….live as beautifully as you only can….and the beauty you spread around …will come around.

“Let the beauty we love be what we do. There are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground.”

  2. Excellent and rich. Very interesting, provoking much thought. Why would we not try to have an enriched experience that really requires alertness honesty and consistancy over labouring. Sounds like a fun challenging game for the new season.
